Stoyan Karaivanov is the only Bulgarian bandoneonist who plays the classical Argentine system. He has won a series of awards from national and international bayan and accordion competitions. He was awarded an honorary diploma for demonstrated high performing skills by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

From the autumn of 2020, the young musician began his education in bandoneon with Prof. Fabio Furia at the Conservatory "Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina" - Cagliari, Italy. In the same year, he began to study conducting with the famous Bulgarian conductor Naiden Todorov at the New Bulgarian University.

He specialized in genre music at the International and National Center for Accordion and Music "Jacques Morne" under Prof. Jacques Morne in France. In 2019 he began his education in accordion at the New Bulgarian University. Stoyan has participated in masterclasses with some of the most prominent and proven accordion and accordion teachers such as the People's Artist of Russia Prof. Friedrich Lips, Prof. Mie Mickey, Prof. Nikolai Kravtsov, Prof. Yuri Shishkin, Prof. Frederick Delchamps and Prof. Vladimir Mandic. She is studying in Bulgaria under the guidance of Zdravka Andreeva and Diana Stancheva.

The young musician was a soloist under the baton of Konstantin Ilievski, Grigor Palikarov, Ivan Stoyanov, Ramiro Arista, Dimitar Karaminkov, Levon Manukyan, Tsanislav Petkov and Kalina Vasileva.

He has given concerts with the Razgrad Philharmonic, Symphony - Shumen, Chamber Ensemble "Dianopolis", Symphony Orchestra - Sliven, AGBU Sofia Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra "Symphony del Arte", Austria, Chamber Orchestra "Collegium Music", Haskovo, Music. In June 2021 he made his debut with great success with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria Hall under the baton of conductor Konstantin Ilievski.

He took part in one of the brightest events in the program of "Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019" - "Medea", where the composer Asen Avramov wrote music for accordion especially for him. Stoyan Karaivanov gave concerts and participated in the prestigious Bulgarian festivals "Sofia Music Weeks", "Days of Music in Balabanov House", Music Festival "Golden Diana", "Accordion Mania", as well as in several international festivals in Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus.

In 2021, Stoyan Karaivanov will perform with the Symphony Orchestras of Shumen and Pazardzhik, as well as at the Summer Music Festival for Classical Music in Balchik.

Stoyan owns and plays a beautiful historical bandoneon Alfred Arnold “semi nacarado” of 1935 which is of the very few exemplary preserved in perfect condition and totally original.
